Ways in Which Fine Art Printing Is Completed

The fine art printing as a form of art has been in existence long before even technology had been thought of and it was done using traditionally made equipment. The art pieces of fine arts have been done by art masters and others have been made by well-known artists that have put a mark in the art world. The pieces made by fine art printing are worthless and are they take quite some time to finish.

The most recognised methods of creating fine art pieces are intaglio, screen printing, planography and relief. They have been in use for over than five decades and are known to produce the best pieces. The process in which all the methods are done is explained below.

The method that has been in existence the longest is the relief and was used to make some of the first major pieces. It is started by the artist cutting out a piece of material they want to use by a sharp method. Knives were used to curve out the wanted shapes out of wood. The engravings on the wood are then applied with ink then pressed against the intended surface to print the art out. The printing would be pressed with more pressure to transfer all the ink to the paper. The paper and the wood are given time to dry so as when they are being removed they do not tear up.

The use of planography method involves use of stone surface as the drawing area. The piece of selected rock is applied with a lube most of the time, which is just oil. The stone is applied with the ink and given time to dry up. After the paint dries up, it is pulled off the stone to complete the process.

The screen-printing method involves the covering of the areas not to be printed out with the use of special glue. The method was the last to be invented and it is used to print many copies and is the most used form of printing currently. Screen-printing is currently used to print designs in pieces of cloths and papers,

The last method is intaglio where by the art is done by woodcarvings. The wood curving of the art is then dipped into ink and then pressed against the surface to be printed. This art work can be printed on any surface as long as the area can take the ink.

The methods can be used to print small and large prints. You therefore have to weigh the time-frame left before undertaking the task.
